Day 1. Sarp entry to Georgia from Turkey. Ajara region – Drive to Gonio Fortress of Argonauts – Batumi sightseeing, including the modern Batumi where the statue of Medea with Golden Fleece was recently erected as the symbol of the town. St. George killing the dragon is a frequent representation you can see in various places in Georgia. Overnight in Batumi.

The Medea statue is a monument to Medea, a Colchian Princess of the Greek mythology erected in Batumi, Georgia. It was unveiled by the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, on 6 July 2007.

Day 2. Drive to the capital of the province Samegrelo, Zugdidi. 127 km. This morning there will be a scenic Black Sea coast drive along the seashore. We can make stops to admire the beautiful coastline. In Zugdidi, we will visit Prince Dadiani Palaces History and Architecture museum which is one of the most eminent places in Caucasus. The first exhibition, of archaeological excavations of the ancient city of Nakalakevi was prepared by Megrelian prince David Dadiani and took place in 1840. Three palaces form the modern museum complex, parts of which are also Blachernae Virgin Church and Zugdidi Botanical Garden.

The Dadiani Palaces History and Architecture Museum houses some exhibits of natural culturalheritage of Georgia – Tagiloni treasure materials, Mother of God holy vesture, the icon of queen Bordokhan – mother of queen Tamar of Georgia, manuscripts from 13th – 14th centuries, miniatures, memorial relics of Dadiani dynasty, and objects connected to emperor of France Napoleon Bonaparte – brought to the palace by the husband of David Dadiani’s daughter, prince Achille Murat, grandson of Napoleon’s sister, Carolina. The palace was fully transformed into a museum on May 1, 1921, at the initiative of Georgian ethnographer and geologist Akaki Chanturia. Overnight in Zugdidi or Anaklia.

Day 3. Zugdidi Mestia 128 km. Drive to Inguri dam. The hydroelectric plant is mightiest building in the Caucasus. Then the group drive to Mestia – administrative center of Upper Svaneti. Overnight in Mestia.

Day 4. On this day we will visit traditional Svanetian towers, Ethnographic Museum, Museum of famous Georgian climber Chergiani. Overnight in Mestia.

Day 5. Hit the road in the direction of the second largest city of Georgia – Kutaisi. 202 kms from Mestia. Here you have the opportunity to admire historical monuments – the Cathedral Bagrati and Gelati Monastery both included in Unesco World Heritage List. In the afternoon you will visit Sataplia Nature Reserve with its beautiful karst caves, an underground river, stalactites and stalagmites. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 6. Drive to Tiblisi capital of Georgia. 226 km. Visit the old town. Short break for lunch. Afterwards you’ll visit Mtskheta. The ancient capital of Georgia. Monuments of Mtskheta Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the hotel. Have free time to go for a walk. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 7. On this day we travel to Kakheti – home of wine and viticulture. You will take a way to the charming city of Kakheti – Sighnaghi. Georgians call it the city of lovers. The city recently renovated and makes an unforgettable impression on visitors. Here, in Sighnaghi you will visit the tasting room of a wine factory and taste the famous Georgian wine. You will spend the night in the town of Telavi.

Day 8. Today our goal, to introduce the second half of Kakheti with its capital – Telavi and architectural monuments of history and culture present here. You’ll visit the Gremi castle . Then you visit the palace of Prince Chavchavadze. After this interesting trip through this northern part of Kakheti region. On this day you will also visit the Alaverdi monastery and ancient academy Ikalto. Then drive back to Tbilisi, where you spend the night.

Day 9. In the morning we will visit the National Museum and Ethnographic Open Air Museum in Tiblisi. On this day we will also visit an ancient cave town Uplistsikhe and house-museum of Stalin in Gori as well the famous resort of Borjomi. You can try the mineral water from a spring and take a walk through Borjomi Park. In the evening you’ll arrive to the mountain resort Bakuriani where you’ll stay for a night.

Day 10. Today you visit the rock-hewn Monastery of XII-XIII centuries Vardzia. Afterwards you’ll see beautiful sights in Akhaltsikhe. Then we will drive to Türkgözü border gate and drive back to Turkey. Overnight stay in Savsat.
