Cappadocia is a Unesco world heritage region known for its unique landscape, rock formations, valleys and rock dug caves. Since I always liked mountains, I bought a small complex of derelict houses composed of 19 rooms and caves here in a small town called Uchisar, in 2003. Uchisar is famous with its rock dug castle and ancient cave dwellings. The castle and the houses around it, must have been inhabited by Hittites who needed strategically advantageous, locations on the top of the mountains. During the restoration works, I was carrying out in the caves I found a tunnel which connected one of the cave rooms to the underground network of tunnels and caves of ancient Cappadocia. The existence of this tunnel in that cave is an indication those caves were probably dating back from the times of the early Christians of Cappadocia, if not by Hittites. My guest house offer stunning panoramic views over the valleys and the Erciyes Mountain. Several rock formations and valleys are lined up under your feet and you can see the Erciyes Mountain covered with snow in the horizon.
